It's that time of year again. LiMBO will again be at the Carlisle PA
Import, Kit/Replicar Nationals May 17-19,2002. Last year we ran into a
problem with the Carlisle Security forces regarding camping in our
Vanagons and Type 2's on the show field, even though this had been an
established practice for over ten years. Some members left early to
avoid the controversy, some vowed never to return, others stayed and
received an apology for the events of the night before. We were allowed
to camp on the show field both nights with no further confrontations. To
be quite honest, I don't know what the policy will be this year. I think
the worst possibility will be that we will each be required to purchase
a parking permit for $20 and stay in the camping area over night. The
best scenario is that we will be allowed to stay on the show field as we
always have. Either way it's still a bargain. $10 for one show vehicle,
$5 more for a second, and $zero for a third and any additional show
vehicles--and our campers are all considered show cars. LiMBO had enough
Buses last year to qualify for a free club tent this year. So if you're
still interested, contact me and I'll send you a registration form. Make
sure you indicate LiMBO, even if you aren't a member, so we can get the
tent again next year, and I'll keep everyone informed as to developments
with the Carlisle management.
