What is the difference in fuel pumps across the volkswagen line? (fuel injected, specificially a2 or a2, digijet/fant). Why? I know that the a2 fp has threaded connectors instead of the vanagon barbed connectors. Why not use metal tubing with the proper fittings to route the fuel from the pump to the engine bay. Then when you get to the bay you use a braided stainless hose from that new pipe to the fuel pressure regulator, etc?

The reason i'm thinking about this is that i have a tiico in my syncro and want to avoid those pesky engine fires that result from the tiico engine moving more than the wbx and rubbing through the rubber fuel lines. cheers matthew
