I'm going to install a new 02 sensor today, but it struck me. There are = 2 white wires and 1 black. Does it matter how I splice up the white = wires?

TIA,

Don Preston ~'87 ASI Wolfy GL=20 Redmond, WA Don, To do a job like this, it is a good idea to have a meter to measure and confirm the wiring. The two white wires should go to the heater on the sensor which is 12 volts and NOT FUSED. The heater warms the sensor to make it work sooner. The black wire should have about 0.5 volt coming from the sensor when the engine is running and warmed up. Like any heater there is no polarity but if you short the wire against the frame or worse yet across the senor wire you can have problems. I confirmed the voltages before taking the old sensor off, just to be safe. I also offset the black wire splice away from the two white wire splice. good luck gary
