I had a rough 69 Bay which had a Corvair w/2spd Powerglide. What a dog!

The trans was awful...only a 2-speed! (well, that's as it was when I bought it... and sold it). The engine was a 2.4 or 2.8, couldn't tell which (PO said 2.4, but it had a later-model fan on it). Couldn't be bothered to get all greasy and measure the cylinder heights.

It ran on 5 cylinders, though all valves were operating; possibly burned valve. Didn't use oil, apart from what was used to lubricate gasket surfaces and outside of engine. Not worth fixing, so I flogged it off to someone who said he's restore it, Corvair and all. I got more for a dud spare Corvair 2.8 engine than I did for the whole van!

Watch those fanbelts... they are chronic for failure. and if they fail your engine is cooked.
