Karl, I agree Bob's article was a good one. Your comment/question about oil viscosity raised an interesting memory. Years ago when running aircooled engines in Alaska ('68 bus with a 2150 CC engine in it) I ran straight 30wt in it in summer. Winters as I recall I went to a 20 wt. With the purchase of an 85GL I went to a went to a 20W50 for summer and 20W40 in winter. Here in the deep South ,when I bought my 88GL, I contiunued using that small weight oil. Have never had any oil pressure issues on any of these machines. I think modern multigrade oils work pretty good on e these engines.
