Folks, Yesterday after work I ran through the Bentley's flow chart of "how to diagnose your cruise control." Every test worked exactly as the book said it should.....except, of course, the last one where you check ohms across the speed sensor. The action to take since I had infinite ohms, according to the book, is to replace the speed sensor. I pulled the instrument cluster and the little sensor. It seems fine... there is no resistance across it... it has no moving parts to break. So.... the problem must be (somewhere) in the wiring between the cruise control unit and the speed sensor. Sound logical?
