Hi folks, Yesterday I posted a message about my van's smog problems, and I got some helpful responses - thanks! Again, here are my smog readings: The C02 readings are: idle (978rpm): 9.38 2500rpm (2636rpm): 11.52 02 readings: idle (978rpm): 7.5 2500rpm (2636rpm): 4.1 C0 readings: idle (978rpm): 0.35 2500rpm (2636rpm): 0.82 The "HC(PPM)" section is the problem. For that test, the maximum allowed measurement is 150ppm @ idle, while my van measures 829 @ idle. The maximum allowed @ 2500RPM is 180ppm, while my van measures 614ppm.
Here's the latest: It turns out there's a pretty big hole in the muffler, which looks like it was caused by rust. Obviously this is a problem, and I need a new muffler, but would it affect the HC part of the smog test? Thanks in advance -Graham |
