I've been off list for a few months, but am starting to follow the digest and may jump in when I have something to contribute, and this is one area I have some experience with. I had front and rear Addco sway bars on my '68 Westy that I converted to a high top, and boy, they really made a difference. The effect is to dramatically reduce sway at normal cornering speeds, I can't speak for any high speed problems because.... well you can figure out why. I'd love to install a set on my '84 Westy. Addco (http://www.addco.net/products/volkswagen.shtml) sells both front and rear, and has several distributors here in the west, including Les Schwab Tires. They run around $200 each and use urethane bushings all around. If I do I'll be sure to share my experiences. Stuart MacMillan '84 Westy w/2.1 engine A mess of MGBs too |
