The pad seems to be made of granulated cork in a waterproof matrix. It is made of cork and it is dense; what could be better. Cork has long been used in higher grade building construction for the purpose of sound mitigation. And the denser the material, the less it is prone to sympathetic vibrations. For example, one way to effectively make a house quieter is to replace those gawd-awful hollow core doors with solid core doors. Rich |
