> Please, folks, the Vanagon, as with ALL of VW's light vans (ie not > the LT) *IS* a Type 2 (Transporter)! The Type 2 IS the Transporter; > some versions are merely given a secondary name such as Kombi, Samba, > Vanagon or Caravelle. Despite the T3 not being MARKETED in USA as a > Type 2 or Transporter, it is nevertheless. Ahhh, the matter of semantics. You see, Type 2 is the common U.S. name for the split-window and bay-busses. That's what's being referred to here. Vanagon is not called a Type 2 in the U.S., where the air-cooled fanatics would hang you high on the nearest tree for such sacrelige. Keep that in mind when visiting... ;-) (A joke, of course). But, I'm Polish and don't care either way, so you're safe! Chris, '85 Westy. |
