Hi, I'm Tony Polson from the UK (Yorkshire). I'm a recent purchaser of a 1984 VW Type 25 Transporter which has been converted to a camper using German (Reimo) fittings. I am married to Jan who, like me, is a Chartered Civil Engineer. We have a son, Michael, who is 9 years old and just fits in the cab bunk! It's my first camper since 1979, when I sold my 1972 Bay which I purchased in the Middle East and drove home to the UK through eleven countries, taking five weeks and 11000km (~7,000 miles). So it has a lot to live up to! I've already noticed a significant difference in size from the Bay ... Over the next couple of years I will be refurbishing and improving the Van and will be touring the UK and Europe with it. It has the original steel roof - no hi-top or pop-top ... yet! I will wait to learn how the list operates and try to read some of the archives before posting questions. I am looking forward to reading of others' experiences with their Vanagons and any hints and tips for engancing (and prolonging the life of) ours, known as "Vera". Best regards, Tony Polson _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com |
