Subject:      is this known information about peter and tiico problems in CA

so i was at my mechanics today(in ca) dropping off my
van and the first thing he says to me after finding
out it is a tiico engine is do i really want to dump
money into it to fix the tranny as he doesn't feel
that the tiico conversion will ever be approved in CA.
i told him that since i had already dumped so much
money in the conversion that i felt that i had no
choice right now.  also in the fact that i love my van
and couldn't possibly think of getting rid of it.

he also told me something very interesting; that peter
had come to him a couple of years ago(is this about
when the tiico engines first avail??)  to do one of
the first installs and that he had told peter that the
engine would never pass smog in ca and he should look
into other kits to sell in CA b/c of that.  i guess
one of the main reasons being that the engine gets no
feedback from the 02 sensor at all.  so my question
is, is this known information about the fact that
peter knew that the tiico engine would not be ca
legal?  i was under the impression when i bought the
kit that it was already ca legal.

lastly there was mention about some ca tiico owners
possibly filing a lawsuit to refund their money?  are
those people on this list and if so could you email me
off list as i have some questions for you.
