If you were in the military or around aircraft or just been around, you know FOD= foreign object damage. Finishing up the overhaul of my cooling system today, I removed the plastic coolant distribution tower and when I pulled it off of the short large hose that connects it to the plastic pipe to the radiator, I reached my finger in the hose, as I always do, to check for debris. I felt something loose and when I pulled it out, it was the last 1/4" of the plastic pipe. Not the current one, but the previous one that was replaced some years ago. Been in there all this time, but apparently not obstructing flow. I found a way to remove the small crimped on hose clamps, that worked better for me, since I didn't have any suitable diagonal cutters. Using 3 successively larger drill bits, just drilled out the little loop at the top of the crimp until it was thin enough to bend and break. Jerry |
