I have used the spray on rocker guard for years to protect areas of many vehicles I have owned and worked on. I use the type that states it is "Printable" I have never seen it or the paint come off. If the rocker guard is coming off the surface it was applied to then the preparation of that surface was done incorrectly. If the paint is coming off the rocker guard then the rocker guard is not the proper type. I like the idea of the truck bed liner coating for the front of the van. I have been thinking about this for a while now. The painted rocker guard scenario does not hold up well to the abuse the front of the van takes from all the crap being thrown at it on our roads. I just had my van repainted in December and already there are many small chips in the painted surface from the rocks, gravel and sand hitting the front. The paint was a top quality base/clear urethane. Supposed to be rock hard. The rocks are just harder I guess !
