> Consumers do NOT control prices. Politicians control >prices. Absolutely right. Unfortunately the rest of the worls pays far more than you do! Here in New Zealand we pay just over $2.00US per IMPERIAL gallon (4.55 liters... don't know how many liters per US gal) of 96-octane, which is still one of the cheapest rates anywhere, complain though we do. Diesel we pay $1.28US per Imp gal for 6% sulfur-content distillate, which generates quite a bit of smoke. The prices here go up & down like a yoyo. In Europe they can pay over twice as much, and diesel fuel isn't any cheaper than gas. -- Andrew Grebneff 165 Evans St, Dunedin 9001, New Zealand <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut |
