I'll be doing this in a month or so.  Right after the
bodywork & repaint.

I have asphalt-based damping (dynamat) and 1/4"
acoustic foam padding to lay on top.  Then comes the
sewfine carpet kit - I'll keep y'all updated when that
happens


As for the rebuild - drove it out to the local shop
and the lifters were dead quiet when I got there -
looks like they just needed to fill up with oil on the
10 mile drive.

Got them to do the timing and check the mixture, and
everything should be 110% now.

Looks like I did better work than I gave myself
credit.  Thanks for all the advice over the months.
