Hey, fellows & fellowettes, I just got back from a rock climbing trip to Joshua Tree National Park this weekend. The climbing was great, as usual, but more importantly I saw tons of VW vans in the area. Lots of old buses (full of dirty hippy climber rats), old westfalias, air-cooled vanagons and a really great syncro with the coolest brush bars I've seen yet. I looked around for the owner, but saw no one. License plate said '7circles' or something. Nice vehicle. Dig the hardware up front. Didn't get to talk to anyone - too much time spent looking for the non-existant camping spots, ended up in a really crappy motel that night. Pity, it would be my climbing buddy's first night camping in the vanagon. The motel was actually fun, because an antique motorcycle club was staying there. Saw a guy with a '29 Harley, and a bunch of old Indian hardtails, too. That was my last trip to J-tree, since I'm moving to Florida next week. I guess I'll be retiring the gear for a while. This way, I can devote more time to my van. Yippee. Enough rambling.
