I've been thinking of this same thing and unless someone can tell me why it wouldn't work I'm going to install the same fluorescent light that is over the table in my Multivan. I think it will fit nicely over the sliding door and mounted to the underside of the A/C housing above the rear hatch. I know its not the cheapest way to go, but I like to keep things as VW as possible.
