I'm not admitting to being in either camp on this, but....

When I got a new windshield in my Syncro a year ago, it sure didn't take very long. I asked about the trim strip and the glass man said they just pushed out the old window with the rubber moulding and trim strip, put the moulding still containing the strip on the new glass, and then zipped it into place.

It was rainy then and it leaked; they siliconed it, but said it takes 2-3 days for the moulding to conform and seal tightly and if it had been dry, it would not have leaked later on after a warm day or so in the sun. It was just a slight leak at a corner and it hasn't leaked since they siliconed it.

Both sides can extract ammunition from this. I'm gonna duck now!
