Purloined Oil Drain Plug. While working around to my decision of whether to start using Mobil 1 Synthetic or stick with my Penzoil 20/50 wt. First I removed the oil filter and I found that I was still getting some minor particles in my oil filter (relating to cast iron rings and cast iron cylinders). I replaced the filter and drained the oil. Not too exciting so far? While the oil was draining I made myself a roast beef sandwich, wrapped it in a paper towel and nuked it for 30 seconds and brought it back outside to eat and watch the oil drain through a screen filter. After I finished the sandwich I picked up the paper towel I had my sandwich wrapped in and wiped the oil off of the plug. I went to the garage to get a drain plug washer and one of my neighbors was there at my van with his dog when I came back out and we had a casual how-do-you-do before he went on down the street. If you haven't guessed it yet the dog picked up the beef flavored paper towel with the oil drain plug in it and left with it, oil plug and all. I found the plug about 200 feet away laying at the curbside. I'm glad of two things: 1. The plug fell out on the pavement, not in grass. 2. I'm glad I didn't have to wait twenty four hours for the dog to return it with mother natures call.
