The Rino Hyde, Herculiner, whatever, will chip if hit hard enough with a rock, stone, misc. road desprise---

I have used the stuff on the lower side of dump bodies to prevent rock marks and paint damage --it does get chipped---

So then what?

You have to get the bedliner reapplied over the damage--there is almost no way to remove it-----so by the time this frequently happens and has been redone several times, the Vanagon in question will be doing a nose dive, ith the added ballast---

Not a good, sound idea--
