You're probably right. Either VW sold someone else a license to use the logo back then, or yours is a genuine one that is no longer made. I concur that the latter is more likely, as VW doesn't tend to license out their logos nearly as often as other car manufacturers do. (The auto trade shows are full of dozens of aftermarket manufacturers with licensed Chevy or Ford logo'd products; rarely a Volkswagen logo found.) Your bra must be a number of years old. I couldn't comment on whether it's the same as VW's current product (other than the year it fits), as I've never seen one of the old ones. The current ones are made for VW in the U.S., but they are definately different from any of the aftermarket brands I've seen (Wolf, Colgan, or CalBra), so I'm not sure who actually OEM's it for them. (I'm sure it's exclusively sold to VW, though, hence the logo.)
