Anything in a can is dead food. If anyone is serious about living food which is what is required for nutrition and energy here are some suggestions.

Beans and seeds can be sprouted and become living food. (But according to some experts even sprouted beans must be cooked to kill an enzyme that contributes to cancer.) Raw sunflower seeds increase nutrition 15 times. Raw sunflower seeds in the hulls can be grown in trays in only 1/2 inch of soil and give you tasty greens. Many "weeds" give you tasty greens like dandelion and lambs quarters.

Nuts and seeds and dried fruits.

Powdered spirulina can last more than 5 years if kept dry and is over 65 % protein with all your essential amino acids and vitamins and minerals.

"But I say unto you: Kill neither men nor beasts, nor yet the food which goes into your mouth. For if you eat living food, the same will quicken you, but if you kill your food, the dead food will kill you also. For life comes only from life, and from death comes always death. For everything which kills your foods, kills your bodies also. And everything which kills your bodies kills your souls also. And your bodies become what your foods are, even as your spirits, likewise, become what your thoughts are. Therefore eat not anything which fire, or frost, or water has destroyed. For burned, frozen and rotted foods will burn, freeze and rot your bodies also"

From The Essene Gospel of Peace Book 1

For the carnivores and omnivores there is always raw meat. And of course canned Spam.
