I'm going to be getting a cheap ($500!) diesel Westy next week and parking it for a little while at my in-laws out in the country, while I rebuild the engine.

I'll need to mouse proof the van while it is parked outside. I've got the obvious handled: The engine lid will be on and secured. I'll block off the vent system.

What I need suggestions on is the camping equipment and such. Are there any hidden vents that I don't know about that I should block off?

On a similar note. The Westy has been sitting for about a year, all closed up. The veneer/covering on the bottom of the top rear compartment has detached. Is there any other potential heat/exposure damage that I should look for?
