Today I finished my negotiations with Winston Tire. It turns out that only the front tires were guaranteed so the decision was whether or not to replace the almost new Michelin rear tires. I decided to replace the rears as well for the sake of safety and to have all tires the same. Winston found 2 ply sidewall Remington tires for $79 each and 3 ply sidewall B. F Goodrich for $105. They will replace the blown tire under warranty and credit me an exchange value on the other front tire. Even though $25 more per tire, I am choosing B. F. Goodrich for two reasons. First the 3 ply sidewall and better off road performance. Second the softer rubber for better road handling since I will be using the tires mostly in city or highway driving. I now have three almost new Michelin X One passenger tires for sale. I'll put them up on ebay as soon as I get them and take some photos. Please pass thins information along to anyone who is looking for 14 inch Michelin X One passenger tires. William 1989 Vanagon GL 1988 Mercedes 300SE |
