I was in a camping store yesterday looking at some LED flashlights and headlamps. They use 1/10th the power of comparable incandescent lights, the bulbs (LEDS) last forever, and they are totally shock resistant. Anyway, I've also been thinking about installing a dome light above the lower bunk in my Westy and thought that an LED unit would be perfect for the job. No more worries about running the battery down while reading... Found one at a marine supply place that would work: http://www.sea-dog.com/400193.pdf, but I'm not too crazy about the nautical look in the Westy. Has anyone seen any other 12v LED Dome Lights that would work?

I've been thinking of this same thing and unless someone can tell me why it wouldn't work I'm going to install the same fluorescent light that is over the table in my Multivan. I think it will fit nicely over the sliding door and mounted to the underside of the A/C housing above the rear hatch. I know its not the cheapest way to go, but I like to keep things as VW as possible. All responses are appreciated, Chris Scherle Solvang, CA '90 Multivan
