Hi List, Recent I bid on a Vanagon AFM harness but lost. Shortly after I was contacted by someone who claimed to have a "handful" of these AFM harness' and would sell me one if I sent him my money. I wrote back stating that I was apprehensive to operate outside the protection of the ebay system and that I question vendors who watch and contact ebay bidders but do not put their own items on ebay. He responded with rightous indignation stating that this was a honest deal and he was just trying to help me. I suggested he send me the harness and if it was a quality item, I would send him the money, if not I would return the harness at my cost. His last reply was even more self-rightous, questioning my diagnostic abilities to judge the item while refusing to send me his harness. I believe I have the right to question the motives of sellers who lurk in the shadows of the ebay system and I think it is their responsibility to reduce my risk if they insist on contacting ebay's bidders when they know this is in violation of ebay's recommended safe practices.
