Hey all you So. Cal. Vanagoners..

Check out the local club Strictly Vintage 2's for a huge list of activities including camping/picnics/meetings/fundraisers, and the best VW show this side of LA. They are a family oriented club, with activities at least once a month. They have a website www.sv2s.com and meet the first Friday every month at the Coco's on Balboa at around 6:00 p.m. Although they specialize in pre-'68 type 2 buses, they allow any and all fun loving people. If you get a chance, don't miss their Familienfest show near the end of the summer at Deer Park winery in Escondido. The show is spectacular, and the surrounding winery and automobile museum make it a perfect day to load the "crew" up for a day of VW'ing.

See you on the road,

Ward

The "Padre Round Up" sounds like a great idea. Mind if I show up in a '73 Valiant?

Last time I talked to mark Drillock in Oceanside he mentioned the idea of going to Mission Bay.

Seems like a good idea to me to meet for a half day picnic sometime.

Subject: Get together in San Diego?

A local list member just contacted me and so we both got to wondering if there is such a Vanagon celebration in San Diego County. I've corresponded with a couple other local list members who seemed like good folk as well as fans of Vanagons. Is there any interest in a gathering of some sort. If no one wants to deal with a campground, we could circle the "wagens" at a day-time Padre game or even a Wal-mart parking lot.
