My mechanic installed "lifetime warranty" half shafts on my wife's car. Since he ordered and installed them, the warranty was not only on the shafts but on his labor as well. So if they fail it costs me nothing. I'm dealing with a reputable mechanic who lives up to his warranties. That being the case I don't imagine he'd use them if thefailure rate was high. My wife's haven't failed.

If he recommended lifetime ones for my vanagon I'd get them. BTW he also installs parts I've gotten through BD or Vanagain. but if it fails, labor's on me. As is reasonable.

My $0.02
