A good thought; however (you knew there would be a however, didn't you?) if
you possible can take photos of the positions of the vehicles immediately
after the accident, it is much stronger evidence than after the vehicles
have been moved.

This becomes a bit of a judgment call as to personal safety vs. documenting
the evidence.  If possible, record all while the vehicles are in situ.
