I disagree.

This Vanagon list could easily and very quickly collapse into a list where nobody but middle-aged white guys feel comfortable.

It could easily turn into a list where it's OK for women to get degraded, and where it's OK for people of different religions to get slagged, and it's up to us to stand up and not let that happen.

I think that if the "good" does not stand up, the "bad" always wins.

Being silent or ignoring it, says you consent to it. It does!

I don't want to hear a future NPR broadcast or read a future Washington Post article, talking about how one of the most inclusive communities in the world, became a safe sanctuary for hate.

And let's not kid ourselves about it either. When I hear people trying to convince me about how Hispanics are crooks, taking advantage of the insurance companies etc - that's just what it is.

If your child said things like that - wouldn't you as normal parents be offended? And wouldn't you tell then it's wrong to talk like that?

So why is OK to accept that kind of talk being brought into your home daily through this wonderful list?

I don't think it's OK, I wish it would stop, and as far as I know, the only way to make it stop is to talk about it and how it affects us.

Remember Yoshi, from Japan? Remember the fellow from Puerto Rico?

Those guys were great to have around, and now they're gone.

I think we've lost them from our group because of what's been said here by some people.

We just have to stop it somehow.

WORDS HURT and there's more than enough hurt going around as it is.
