I notice that this gas can has the fill spout on the side and not the top. I do not see why a small plastic gas can can not work just as well as long as it is thin enough. I've been keeping my eye out for a lower than $80 cost for a plastic can that will fit in the tire with perhaps some padding around (like that foam carpet padding.)

Any reason to not use plastic?
