Subject: Tires: Winston versus Discount Tire
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

As it turns out Winston Tire did not honor their Lifetime guarantee on my blown tire saying that the warranty does not go with the tire but only with the original buyer. I am going to contest it.

However I did buy 4 new B. F. Goodrich 27-850R-14/C All terrain TA KO 3 polyester ply sidewall, 2 steel ply tread tires at Discount tire in Encinitas, CA because they do guarantee their tire warranty for the life of the tire and it does go to the buyer if the van is sold. Not only that but they charged about $3 less for the same tire. Still expensive at $132 per tire with balancing and lifetime warranty adn lifetime balancing but I think my safety is worth it.

I'm sure those of you who already know are not surprised that the van handles way better with the correct tires especially around corners. Also rated for off road travel.

I am totally pissed off with Winston Tires and would not recommend them to anyone.

I have always been happy with Discount tire which is why I buy from them.
