Windshield repairs do work. You have to be careful who does the work and what system is used. I have seen a ding in the glass turn into a crack all the way across the window in just seconds after the repair work was started. It was due to the pressure exerted on the glass by a less than astute workman. So it pays to shop around and ask questions.

In this area - Birmingfham, AL -- currently it's $45/ for one ding, and about half for the second when done on the same service trip. Locally there are no service shops, but all work is done from mobile operators. Pretty cool actually. The repaman will come to the parking lot where you are parked at work and your window is repaired and ready to go when you get off work. Or they will come to your home and fix it while your car is parked in the driveway. They don't work on rainy, wet, or very cold days.
