The floor brackets are still available from VW (at least they were a year ago). I bolted mine in place. Welding is clearly the best way to attach the brackets but it is not as convenient as bolting them in! Be carefull about the fuel tank beneath the floor!

Make sure you get the upper bracket with your seat from the passenger side. The seats are interchangeable but the upper brackets are not interchangeable between the drivers and passengers sides.

It's great having a removeable 5th seat in a Westy!

Took me about 3-4 hours to install.

What's involved in adding the jump seat behind the front passenger seat (right by the sliding door)?

Looked in the archives...

As best I can find, installing one of the single seats means ripping brackets from the floor and front seat "pedestal" (back side below driver's or passenger's seat) of the donor vehicle.

Welding these in place in the recipient's vehicle.

Cutting holes in the carpet so said seat can be quickly bolted to brackets.

Is this right?
