Hi Robie,

I would first ask you what kind and brand of oil filter are you running and with what kind of oil. The oil grade is not as critical but the brand name of oil filter is. If you run a FRAM or STP or even the Bosch black oil filter the pressure relief in the sping inside the filter may not be to the specs required for the 2.1L engine. I would suggest chaning the oil filter with a MANN filter available off the list vendors and at BAP parts store. Don't settle for the cheap filters. I run 10-40W in the cold winter months here in Rochester NY. and just changed to 20-50W for the remainder of the not so cold months.

Change the oil filter if you are not running with a MANN filter and see if your problem is gone. If not then you may have other oil pressure problems to investigate.

Good Luck, Joel 89 Syncro Westy Rochester NY.
