Strange, the brackets on my 84' both measure 1-5/8" gap, not wide enough for my new KYB's. I looked on my other westy(same year) and the bracket gaps measure 1-1/2".

again im cornfused, but thanks to the list i DID NOT get in there with a grinder, i re-installed old shock and ill be on the horn w/ Bus-Depot monday.
