Check out what type of hose you're using from the cap to the refill tank. I had the one used for gasoline, and these rot, and leak in a way that is difficult to detect. I you have them, check them to see if they are hard and brittle. I had this problem with our Jetta, and discovered the cause by accidentally squeezing a coolant hose, the small hose from the expansion tank was "sweating" coolant, no drips. Replace those with regular rubber hose.
