Subject: 87 Vanagon -w/VW rebuilt engine
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Last summer a lifter came apart in my van --went for a VW reman engine -which at the time seem to be the only one around-apparently VW does not reman them anymore. Replaced engine, got the stainless pipes and everything ran smoothly--- Van was parked for most of the winter- after driving a few times this spring -I heard the exact knocking noise that it made before when the lifter came apart-- anyone have problems with VW reman engines? have not got to the problem yet- but just wondering if this is possible to happen again- we have about 300 or 400 miles on it since the engine was put in --thanks for info-- troubled
