>Since I've decided on getting the Fog Light brackets from Fast >Forward.......Anyone have any ideas on fog lamps for the Vanagon........I >want Hella 500's or Hella 550's.....or the factory porsche fog >lights.......w/ >100W bulbs of course......w/ a relay of course!........who has done this >with success I've used these factory brackets and Hella 500 fog lamps on two Vanagons and it works out well and looks sharp. I might go for the rectangular 550's if I had a later model van with the rectangular lights. Of course there are probably even better ($$$) lamps out there - performance costs money, how fast do you want to go? I have not (as of yet) used any hi wattage bulbs as the combination of Bosch H4 headlamps, Hella H3 auxilliary high beams, and Hella 500 fog lamps gives plenty of light. Power to all lamps is run direct from the battery to a custom four relay/fuse panel where it is then distributed to the lamps. Using heavy gauge wiring and relays to control the lighting allowed a .75 volt gain over the factory wiring when measured at the bulbs. Best wishes, Tony Anthony L.
