Before storing a vehicle or engine: It has always been my policy to rev the engine up to about 3000 Rpms and squirt enough marvel mystery oil into the intake to kill the engine. This has always worked well on engines or cars I intend to let sit or store for extended time periods. If this hasn't been done either with standard engine oil or MMO you need to pour oil or MMO in each cylinder and crank it several times without the ignition disabled so the oil gets distributed throughout your ring, cylinder wall contact areas. It really doesn't hurt to let it sit overnight before you try starting it if you suspect any rust from condensation. Restart the engine only after you've put new oil in the crankcase and replaced the oil filter.
