That joint depends on proper metal-to-metal clamping for its strength...VW had to increase the torque spec (and hence use a stronger bolt) on some of them -- diesels I think? -- b/c the bolts were breaking. Bentley has the details. david ps -- I'm talking about the stock WBX mounting, dunno how it's done on the Tiico. But bolted joints in general get most of their strength from the clamping, not the bolt itself.
