A couple of weeks ago I asked about water tank pumps. I had a sump pump (West Marine sells them for about $14) in mine and it quit pumping. Nobody suggested another sump pump. A couple of people advised getting an original replacement. Thanks to those people for emailing me; it conviced me to go back to stock. I got one from GoWesty ($37 delivered) and put it in. It is better because the wiring cover seals in the top-o-tank grommet, the wires are color coded (the sump pump was hooked up to run backwards....)--and it pumps much more volume! So I say, forget sump pumps and stick with the original design. Richard A. Jones Boulder, Colorado '81 Vanagon Mr Bus '87 Syncro Westy El Jefe |
