I made mine slightly differently than Roy, who used a wooden dowel and a
pipe flange. I just bought a length of pipe that fit the flange, screwed it
in, and cut the pipe to fit. You have to make sure the round "step" doesn't
prevent the drawer from opening. The step itself I bought at Michaels, a
local craft store, for $1.50. Like Roy, I'm gonna afix a non-slip surface
on the top of the step.
Cheers,
Chris

Chris,
I for one would sand the old, flaking paint off with 180 paper---
Why take the time to sand?
Because it will give the new finish "biter's" for it to hang on to the
table mount----it won't be as lilely to be flaking off in the future---
Blow a light coat of spray can primer on the metal, scuff it down, and
paint----
Did you make the step out of wood, or weld one together?
I like the concept---
I think I'm going to weld one of these together this coming week---
Tubing, and 1/2 plate------covered in carpeting --bullet proof !!!---:>)
Later,
Terry

Folks,
Made an upper bunk step like Roy did, here:
http://www.autobahn.mb.ca/~rrh/Westy%20Mods.htm
Some of the paint has flaked off my front table mount, and I'd like to
re-paint the whole thing.
Anyone know the best way to get the rest of the existing paint off?
Steel wool? Wire brush?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
