I have fully collapsing antennas for the Vanagon and they are German made (the same ones that you would buy if you went to the dealer). They fully retract. They have a security feature that is the antenna goes into the base and the top of the antenna becomes flush with the base. That means that you can't even pull it up without a small key that comes with the antenna (or a small bladed screw driver would probably work too). I have these on my website for $35 each. They are pn 251035503R. You can order by going to the search page at http://www.vanagain.com/search.asp or you can just call me and order over the phone. Just FYI.

Anyone know a source for a Vanagon am/fm antenna that closes flush when it's down? The aftermarket antenna I have now does not fully collapse and is giving me car cover issues as it sticks up several inches. If the VW dealer is an option anyone know the price?
