If the mechanism is loose inside (the top bracket)- watch what happens to the bracket inside the cabinet when you pivot the table back and forth- you may need to jam something between the welded square nut and the housing it is mounted in. You will see what I mean if you look at it. If that is secure, but the leg is slipping past the bolt, you can file a flat spot on the table leg where the bolt touches. It may also be possible that the bolt in the nob is to short and is reaching its limit before securing the leg. The bolt can easily be replaced with a longer one by popping the disc off of the top of the knob and sliding the bolt out. Your local hardware store will have a replacement. Good luck-
