Yo David,

I can see where another channel towards the inside of the Van would prevent this from happening---

The table would slide into the 3 sided box from the rear----easy solution---no brain damage---

I kinda liked ths idea---with minor modification---

So I went to the hardware store and got an aluminium rail "[" shape I cut it to the size of the table and proceeded to screw it to the bottom of the uper bed over the engine like this "[   ]" In that way it receives the table from the rear bench, and I keep it in place with a small bungee

I try to avoid any configuration that adds a projectile in case of accident. This looks like potential decapitation material...
