That's because one side goes inside the motor mount bar, and the other side goes outside the bar

Kinda anti-intuitive if you ask me... but then, not a whole lot made since when I pulled my engine.

Don't forget that the exhaust studs go on the front of the drivers head, and the back of the passenger head - bolts are opposite :)
