Subject: Evil Front Bilstien Shock--Lower mounting bolt froze
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Ive been trying to remove lower "LONG THROUGH BOLT" that secures the front shock to the track control arm. I got the nut off OK but the LONG THROUGH BOLT is stuck to the old Bilstein shock. When I try to rotate bolt out, the shock tube spindle thing rotates along with it inside rubber bushing . Ive tried a large punch and 10Lb. sledge and this doesnt work, if i hit any harder it will damage the threads. I tried grip-lock pliers to hold the shock tube in place while I undo the bolt counter clockwise, but it slips.

Am i doing something wrong?

I cant think of anything else other than to get the cutting torch out.

Any ideas? Thanks, Phil 84' Westy Tiico"The Millenium Falcon"
