Subject: Boston Bob Visit Report
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I was paid a visit by List engine guru Bob Donalds yesterday. We talked about Vanagons, I got to drive his '85 Westy with Big Valve 2.1l engine, and we had lunch. Bob is a great guy and I am glad we finally got a chance to meet. I really enjoyed driving his Big Valve 2.1l and it does seem to have more power than the stock waterboxer and more torque at the low end than the Tiico (the Tiico does it's best at higher rpms). So if you want a bit more power, yet don't want to go through the hassle of a conversion, perhaps this is for you. I know that Bob gives really great technical support and is always there to respond via phone or email (except this past week when he has been traveling). I have met several folks on this list and I am happy to report and almost every last one has been a pleasant encounter. It is almost like meeting an old friend (you wonder for an awkward moment if you should give each other a hug, and you wind up with a really friendly handshake :). Just wanted to share.

Thanks, Ken Wilford John 3:16 http://www.vanagain.com Phone: (856)-327-4936 Fax: (856)-327-2242
